Welcome to Climatology and Computer Science!
In this website, you will learn about climatology and its interaction with computer science.
INTRODUCTION:
What is Climatology?
Climatology is the description and scientific study of climate. Basically, it is the study of climate and weather conditions.
What is the Difference Between Climate and Weather?
Weather and climate both describe the condition of the atmosphere. However, climate is the condition for long term, while weather is the condition for short term. Although climate and weather have different meanings, climate can be expected based on the data of day-to-day weather.
This is why there is an old saying:
“Climate is what you expect. Weather is what you get.” -----Robert A. Heinlein
This quote basically means our everyday weather conditions eventually contribute to climate.

* This is an example of climatology. The map divides Canada according to their climate conditions measured over a long period of time. For example, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut mostly belong to the Arctic region because they are usually cold.
